This Cereus jamacaru cactus flower was photographed in a private garden in La Mesa, California.
Cereus jamacaru flowers are large and white with floral tubes that are smooth or have smooth scales; they are nocturnal and fragrant. They blossom at dusk and wither by the morning . Its fruit has a very strong violet color. The pulp is white with tiny black seeds, and it's considered very tasty.
